Autumn in Obuse runs from September through November. The average temperature is 30ºC in September, 23ºC in October, and 20ºC in November as it grows cooler with each passing month. Obuse is a fruit town and all sorts of locally grown fruits are available including chestnuts, apples, grapes, nashi pears, and persimmons. Many shops sell special sweets that are made with freshly harvested chestnuts and available only for a limited time, drawing people even from outside the prefecture. This is Obuse’s busiest season of the year.
