Eastern Area
Dotted with old farmhouses, this area has classic rural scenery such as the satoyama landscape beneath Mt. Karida, fruit orchards, and rice paddies. The Seseragi Green Road that follows the base of the mountain is a wonderful place for a walk, and passes both Gansho-in Temple, famous for its ceiling painting by Katsushika Hokusai, and the historic Joko-ji Temple. The Sixth-Order Industry Center (the town’s largest farmer’s market) and Floral Garden Obuse are also in this area.
